Foreword

The world is vast, ranging from complex civilizations that have withstood unimaginable hardships to savage lands either forgotten or less explored. Champions forge the world, conquering the unknown and crusading against the world’s evils. Masters in the Font of Arcana pursue knowledge endlessly, expanding the possibilities for an ever-changing world. Even descendants from the Venerate Realms move through the lands, working to advance the incomprehensible plans of the many gods.

But you are not any of these. You... are a human. Your kingdom stands in the shadow of the older and wiser of the world. In the eyes of all, you are seen as juvenile and inexperienced. The world looks to your short history, witnessing your struggle for survival as you have through the entirety of humanity’s existence, trying fruitlessly to tame the world before you. Failing tremendously to make your mark in the world – to stand among the rest.

While it's true, they don’t care to understand why and ignore the most obvious fact of it – human nature. It is in you to quest for the impossible, lust for the unachievable, or simply prove you aren’t incapable. You’ll happily stumble along the path of existence as long as it is a path that you carve for yourself. For you know something the older and wiser have forgotten. Freedom, and a life worth living, lie just beyond the unknown and just before perilous danger. Your place is yet to be discovered – and can only be found through discovering.
