The Power of Mind and Magic
In the mystical and challenging world of Echelon, where magic intertwines with the fabric of reality and mental resilience is as crucial as physical strength, Resolve Points (RP) stand as a testament to a character's inner strength and arcane prowess. These points are not just a measure of one’s ability to cast spells or ward off psychological stress; they are a reflection of a character’s deeper connection to the mystical energies that permeate the Echelon universe and their mental fortitude in the face of daunting challenges.
In Echelon, Resolve Points (RP) are crucial for spell casting and using magical abilities, with each spell or ability consuming a specific amount of RP. RP are also vital for resisting psychological effects and maintaining mental endurance in stressful situations. Players must strategically manage their RP, balancing their use in spell casting with the need to conserve for prolonged encounters. As characters progress, they can increase their RP through leveling up and acquiring magical artifacts, enhancing their magical capabilities and endurance.

Spellcasting and Magical Abilities
RP are primarily used when a character casts spells or utilizes special magical abilities. Each spell or ability specifies the number of RP required to activate or maintain it.Spells and abilities can range from offensive magic to defensive wards, healing powers, or utility magic that affects the environment or other characters.Players must strategically choose when to use their spells and abilities, as excessive use can quickly deplete their RP. Players must balance the use of their RP to maximize their effectiveness while avoiding depleting their resources too quickly.
Concentration and Duration: Some spells and abilities require ongoing concentration. Maintaining these effects for their duration may require additional RP, especially for spells that last beyond the immediate turn or round. The longer a character maintains a spell, the more RP may be required, creating a balance between the power of the spell and the caster's endurance.
RP Recovery
RP naturally regenerates over time, typically through rest and recovery scenes in the game. Certain items, spells, or abilities can speed up the recovery of RP, offering ways to quickly replenish spent magical energy.
Increasing RP
As characters advance in levels, particularly in spellcasting-focused classes, they can gain increased RP, reflecting their growing magical prowess.Acquiring certain magical artifacts or undergoing special training can also increase a character's RP, allowing for more frequent or powerful use of abilities.
